Design Apprentice
We are looking for a talented, aspiring graphic designer to join our team on a part-time, on-call basis. This is an on-call apprenticeship (and mentorship) intended to give aspiring creatives the opportunity to work and learn aside a professional as they build their own portfolio. Primary responsibilities of this role will be to create social media graphics, flyers, logos along with assisting with various other tasks, as needed.
The on-call nature of this role means that the designer will need to be responsive and able to turn around designs in a timely manner. This person will be able to negotiate their compensation for certain types of work.
High-school and college students with design/marketing experience are encouraged to apply. You will be assisting our firm with the production of creative materials for a major client. This is an excellent opportunity to build your portfolio with both digital and print deliverables.
While experience with Adobe Photoshop is not required or necessary, candidates who are looking to learn and refine their skills in Photoshop are encouraged to apply.
Qualifications:

Proficiency/familiarity with Canva (and the ability to learn)

Proficiency or experience with Photoshop & Lightroom are a plus, but not required

Portfolio showcasing past design and/or creative work

Familiarity/strong understanding of social media

Attention to detail and ability to follow brand guidelines

Good communication skills and ability to work on a flexible, on-call basis

Local to Maryland, DC, or Virginia is a plus (position is REMOTE)
